The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on President Trump’s travel ban in September, and has reinstated most parts of the executive order. The AP reported:
The court did leave one category of foreigners protected, those “with a credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States,” the court said in an unsigned opinion.
Trump previously indicated that the ban will take effect 72 hours after the SCOTUS decision. It will apply to citizens of Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
The Court still protected a class of foreigners “with a credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States.” How that exception is handled by the administration will be subject to an internal review.
