Attorney Michael Avenatti isn’t known for seeing the writing on the wall. He misread cases he pushed for Stormy Daniels and Julie Swetnick. He also misjudged how his ex-girlfriend would handle being thrown out of their apartment with Avenatti allegedly getting physical in their dispute.
Now, it seems that Avenatti isn’t seeing the clear trend away from him as a potential 2020 presidential candidate.
Michael Avenatti Says His 2020 Chances Have Gone Up Since His Arrest
In the last six weeks, Avenatti has been arrested on a domestic violence charge, broken with his star client Stephanie Clifford in a dispute over fundraising and strategy, and been referred to the Department of Justice for criminal investigation in connection with his representation of Julie Swetnick.
“I think the field is shaping up to be even more advantageous for someone like me, not less,” Avenatti told Politico Sunday. “I think my chances have only gone up, not gone down.”
My Take
There is about a zero percent chance at this point that Avenatti will be the Democrats’ nominee. In fact, he will likely get such little attention next year that he won’t be able to fund a localized campaign, let alone a national one.
He’s not going to stop until Democrats and media stop paying attention to him. There are valid challengers emerging for the Democrats. Michael Avenatti is not one of them.
