Michael Moore says something sensible about the Democrats. No, seriously.

Leftist documentary producer Michael Moore is known for making outrageous claims, pushing progressive propaganda, and being generally unlikable by anyone other than his rabid fans. Today, he actually said something sensible. In fact, he might even be right.

Moore suggested that the names currently being floated as people to take on President Trump in the 2020 election can’t win. Nearly all of them are politicians. He specifically pointed to Senators Kamala Harris and Cory “Spartacus” Booker as people he loves but who cannot beat the President.

On Morning Joe, he pushed back against co-host Mika Brzezinski’s assertion that Harris could beat the President.

“Love her, no. No!” Moore said. “No, not going to happen. Cory, love him, no. We cannot run a politician against him, we will lose.”

One of the two names floated by Moore were odd. He invoked every leftist’s favorite First Lady, Michelle Obama, who would certainly be a strong contender if she decided to run. But the other name came out of the clouds. Literally.

“It’s gotta be like a Michelle Obama or it’s gotta be a ‘Sully’ Sullenberger. Why aren’t we thinking along the lines of who can defeat him? We will lose in 2020.”

Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger is the pilot who landed a Flight 1549 in the Hudson River after losing both engines shortly after takeoff. He was portrayed by Tom Hanks in the movie Sully.

While it might seem like a stretch, the 67-year-old former pilot has been very vocal about politics.

My Take

Moore is right. Whoever the Democrats are able to draft to run, it shouldn’t be anyone in their current political ranks if they want a chance against President Trump. No DC Democrat right now is competent enough to do anything other than whine.
