Christ instructs us to be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves; not dumb as bricks and guilty as hell.
“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves; therefore be shrewd as serpents and innocent as dove.”
Matthew 10:16
In May of 2016, 30 members of Fellowship Bible Church filed into a Rutland, Vermont courtroom to show support for convicted child molester Joseph Angelo Pasquariello.
Church members support molester
According to court documents, Pasquariello was charged in 1994 with one count of aggravated sexual assault on a child and two counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child; he was also charged with an additional count of aggravated sexual assault on a child in a separate charge. In a 1995 plea agreement, he pleaded guilty to felony aggravated sexual assault on a child, with the other three counts dismissed.
Pasquariello was sentenced in Rutland criminal court by Judge Francis McCaffrey to 10 to 20 years, all suspended but four years to serve.
In 2004, his probation was dismissed.
Pasquariello, with his fellow congregants of Fellowship Bible Church members by his side, sought the expungement of his criminal offender as a sex offender expunged from the record.
His request was denied.
New information has just come to light showing: Fellowship Bible Church is, itself, headed by a convicted sexual predator.
That predator is Pastor John Longaker.
And I have obtained the court records which prove it. (documents below)
To make matters worse, it now appears Fellowship Bible Church members were fully aware of Longaker’s criminal conviction yet chose to appoint him as pastor regardless.
Longaker groomed a 14-year-old student
The early details of John Longaker’s sexual predations first broke on Oct 10, 2018, in a piece at The Wartburg Watch.
It began in the early 1990’s, when Kelly Haines was just 14 years of age. John Longaker, who was in his late 30’s, taught at the school Kelly attended: Faith Baptist Christian School in Pennsylvania.
Longaker’s victim recalled how she was groomed by the man she once trusted.
My first recollection of anything different was in the fall of 94 during softball season. I was on the bus going to softball practice. He coached the baseball team but they would drop the softball team at their field and then went on to their field. John Longaker always tried to sit in the seat behind me on the bus.
One day while we were driving I felt John Longaker’s foot rub up against the back of my leg. I wasn’t sure if it was an accident. The next day I felt it again and I turned around and saw John smiling…
Then came the daily “counseling sessions” during which, “those foot and back touches to brushing up against me and feeling my breast. When he was “hard” he would rub against my leg or he take my hand and touch it. He frequently touched under my clothes.”
The abuse progressed from there.
It continued until she graduated: 4 long years.
Longaker plays the victim
Before I share the court records proving John Longaker’s guilt, and the grotesque details of his crimes documented therein, you should hear from the good pastor in his own words.
After the initial story broke, The Wartburg Watch was given permission to publish a written comment from Pastor Longaker, which TWW did so only a few days ago, on October 29, 2018.
In his seven-paragraph response, John Longaker plays the victim and denies his guilt.
Speaking of the young girl he once molested for four years, now a woman, he stated:
“Kelly has tried to destroy me.”
“Kelly was troubled before I ever began counseling her. (Maybe troubled by other sexual encounters?)”
Of his Fellowship Bible Church parishioners, Pastor John Longaker asserts:
“They are aware of the charges and they are aware that I pled guilty. I have offered to resign on three separate occasions and my offer was rejected.”
Prior to invoking his wife’s opinion as proof of his innocence, Longaker attempted to shield himself from guilt by exploiting two traumatized women:
“One of the members who knows was a woman who was sexually abused as a child. Another who knows was raped twice as a young woman. They both love me and trust me. I believe that I have helped both of them very much. One I was able to aid in counselling her out of her bulimia and suicide attempts. She continues to make significant progress.”
The fact that his sexual molestation of a young girl occurred during his “counseling sessions” didn’t seem to have occurred to Longaker, as he discussed his “counseling” of these two women.
Finally, the benevolent pastor then wrapped up his series of tropes by hammering a nail into his own coffin:
“Even if I did the horrible things that Kelly said I did, I have been forgiven.”
Count documentation of Longaker’s charges
According to a Bucks County, Pennsylvania court documents from 1998, John Longaker was charged with the following:
- INVOLUNTARY DEVIATE SEXUAL INTERCOURSE
- AGGRAVATED INDECENT ASSAULT
- ENDANGERING WELFARE OF CHILDREN
- INDECENT ASSAULT
- CORRUPTION OF MINORS
WARNING: EXPLICIT SEXUAL LANGUAGE FOLLOWS
The details of Longaker’s predation are found in the affidavit attached to the initial filing:
“…kissing, fondling, and sucking/kissing of her breasts and vaginal area, mutual masturbation, digital penetration and oral/genital contact of one another.”
“…she would masturbate LONGAKER’S penis until ejaculation and that sometimes he would swallow his own ejaculate.”
“…these sexual contacts occurred inside vacant classrooms at the school, inside LONGAKER’S automobile while traveling to various locations, and at LONGAKER’S home…”
Court records show teacher John Longaker admitted guilt
By 1996, John Longaker was teaching at a different Christian school, this one in Massachusetts: Twin City Baptist Temple.
Once Pastor Aukland of Faith Baptist Christian School, where the molestation had occurred, learned of the accusations against John Longaker, Pastor Aukland contacted Twin City Baptist Temple to inform them of the possible sexual predations perpetrated by Longaker.
According to the court affidavit, the school leadership of Twin City Baptist Temple took action:
“PASTOR BURKE subsequently confronted LONGAKER in the presence of PASTOR HENRY and BILL SENEY…”
“PASTOR BURKE stated that LONGAKER admitted having a sexual relationship with [redacted – the victim’s name] while at the Faith Christian School in Pennsylvania.”
“LONGAKER told them he began this relationship with [redacted – victim’s name] when she was around 14 years of age and lasted until she graduated.”
The benevolent teacher, John Longaker, was arrested.
Ex-teacher Charged In Sex Case * Officials Say The Former Sellersville Schoolteacher Had An Affair With Girl, 14.
“A former teacher at the Faith Baptist Christian School in Sellersville was charged Friday with having sex with one of his former students in the school, in his car and in his former Quakertown home from the time the girl was around 14 until she was 18.”
District Attorney, Alan M. Rubenstein, called Longaker’s crimes, “especially harmful and egregious,” and further stated:
“He is in a special position of trust, confidence and supervision,” Rubenstein said. “She relies on him for good judgment, and he takes immediate advantage of that … and it all occurs in the shadow of the steeple of the church.”
Avoiding a lifetime on the sex offender registry, trusted teacher, John Longaker, pleaded guilty to two of the charges against him:

However, as court records show, Longaker wasn’t able to avoid jail time.
He was sentenced to 11 ½ – 23 months in prison for his predatory crimes against a young girl.
Longaker teaching again
The Fellowship Bible Church’s profile on Pastor Longaker states:
“Pastor John has served at Fellowship Bible Church since 2010 as pastor after serving the previous 8 years as Sunday School teacher and a church officer.”
Thus, only 3 years out of his prison sentence for his sexual predation of Kelly Haines, John Longaker was teaching Sunday School at Fellowship Bible Church.
He had also worked his way up to Church Officer at that time.
And, according to John Longaker himself, his congregants knew about his criminal conviction, promoted him anyway, and then refused his offers of resignation on three separate occasions.
I reached out to Fellowship Bible Church for to inquire about the truth of Longaker’s claims. My email follows:
I also left a voicemail at the telephone number provided to me for a Mr. Tracey Grieder, who is a purported to be an elder of Fellowship Bible Church, but I have received no response. As such, I was unable to confirm his relationship within Fellowship Bible Church.
I was able to reach Mr. Don Wood, also purported to be an elder at Fellowship Bible Church, by telephone. After introducing myself and indicating he had been identified as an elder, Mr. Wood briskly interrupted:
“Tell Kelly to stop the nonsense. Okay? Goodbye. And don’t call again. Otherwise, I’ll report you.”
He then hung up.
I would like for the record to show that Pastor Longaker’s victim, Kelly Haines, in no way solicited my attempt at contacting Mr. Wood, nor Mr. Grieder. To the contrary, I sought to verify information for this piece and allow members of Fellowship Bible Church to comment and clarify.
As it stands, no elders have come forward to contradict the published testimony of Pastor John Longaker published at the Wartburg Watch.
Thus, as it stands now and until indicated otherwise, the leadership and/or the membership of Fellowship Bible Church have failed to follow Biblical requirements for church leadership (1 Timothy 3; Acts 6:1-6). If that is the case, is it really any wonder that six years after the knowing elevation of a sexual predator to the status of Pastor, the congregants of Fellowship Baptist Church would advocate for a violent child molester (church member or not)?
Perhaps the bigger question is, “Just how many sexual predators is Fellowship Bible Church concealing between her walls?”
“And whoever shall cause to stumble one of these of the little ones believing in Me, it is better for him that a heavy millstone should be hung around his neck, and he be sunk in the depth of the sea.”

If I were you, I’d follow up with the members who are supporting Pasquariello. They can at least tell you if the laity knew if Longaker was telling the truth. I’ll be surprised if he was. Good for that school in Massachusetts.
Thank you for printing this article.
A couple of corrections: Pastor Paul Auckland (spelling); Faith Christian Academy in Sellersville (a ministry of Faith Baptist Church); I don’t think the congregation as a whole knew about John’s past when they brought him on as pastor…a few select people were contacted in 2016 (and chose to believe John’s version of events and support him).
John either lied to his pastors in 1997 (when he admitted to what he did to Kelly) or he’s lying to his congregations now (when he’s telling them it’s all false accusations). Which is more probable???
If the church chooses to keep John as their pastor (which would be unwise in my opinion), they at least need to make sure ALL attendees are aware of ALL of the accusations. His past should be part of his ongoing testimony.

Thank you for bringing my error in spelling of “Auckland” to my attention. If you have any information to share regarding this story, I’d love to hear from you. My e-mail is [email protected]. Thank you!
