Seriously, Mr. President, tell your own companies to hire American

It’s no secret I’m not a fan of Jimmy Kimmel, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. This particular moment of clarity addresses his favorite target, President Trump, and the practices of his companies to hire foreign workers.

He’s said it over and over again, “hire American.” Kimmel’s team put together a montage of him saying the words that he’s likely said dozens of other times when campaigning and at least a few other times as President. Unfortunately, he can’t be trusted to make one of the staples of his campaign promises actually happen. We know this because he can’t even make his own companies do it.

Donald Trump’s Miami Beach Resort Wants to Hire 37 Foreign Workers, Some at Pay Decreases

https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-miami-foreign-workers-1115892President Donald Trump’s beach resort in Miami wants to hire 37 temporary foreign workers, according to requests filed with the U.S. Department of Labor that were made public Monday and Wednesday.

The requests from the Trump International Beach Resort are for six assistant food and beverage servers, 16 regular servers and 15 housekeepers who would be employed from December 1 through September 6, 2019. The food and beverage servers would make a guaranteed $10.34 per hour after tips, a pay decrease from last year’s $11.65 per hour. The regular servers would make a guaranteed $12.66 per hour after tips, the same as last year. Housekeepers would make $11 per hour, a slight increase from last year’s $10.64 per hour.

There’s no way to spin this in a positive light for the White House. He demands that American companies hire American workers yet refuses to put the same standards on his own companies.
