Differential equations teaches us that one can use the initial conditions of the present to extrapolate events in the near term balanced with the knowledge of the past. The interaction of technological advances and the march of history is fascinating. History can inform those willing to listen as to what will happen in the future because the laws of human natural are as immutable as the elegant equations of Newtonian physics.

Liberal Alan Dershowitz: The Hard Left is a Bigger Threat to America

Published

By

It’s always amusing to see which traditional liberals have been pushed too far by leftists. Not that this is the first time Alan Dershowitz has strayed. It is, however, the most blunt he’s been about it.

Alan Dershowitz and Dennis Prager in No Safe Spaces:

I’m not worried about a few dozen people with swastikas who want to replace the Jews, because they’re our past. They have no resonance on university campuses today.

But the hard, hard left? Anti-Semitism, anti-Christianity, intolerance for speech. It’s the future. These are our leaders.

In 50 years of teaching at Harvard, Stanford, NYU, Hebrew University, you name it, I have never met a group of less courageous people in my whole life than tenured Harvard and tenured other professors. They are so terrified of their own shadow. They don’t want to do anything that upsets a student.

PragerU Video: Control the Words, Control the Culture

Published

By

On why it’s critically important to use the proper words such as Leftist instead of Liberal.

PragerU has published a new video on a very important subject. Many argue that we are in a culture or civil war with the Left, thus it is extremely important that we don’t accede to their linguistic propaganda.

PragerU: Control the Words, Control the Culture

The culture war is first and foremost a war of words – and the left is winning. The consequences can be seen everywhere: in politics, in education, in media. In this video, Michael Knowles, host of the Michael Knowles Show, explains why we should not cede another syllable.

It should be axiomatic that one doesn’t concede ground to an enemy without making them pay a price for taking it. But in essence, that is what we on the Pro-Liberty Right are doing every time we use certain terms that help the Left in their deceptions. As mentioned, we are in a culture war with the Left and every time we use a word such as ‘Liberal’ to describe them or capitalism to refer to economic Liberty we are surrendering linguistic ground to the Left without ever firing a shot.

In an effort to defend Liberty these are the important word choices we all should use in our contentions with the Left.

1. Leftist instead of Liberal

Can anyone seriously argue that with the Left going after the 1st and 2nd amendments that it still promotes the idea of Liberty?

There are a number of words that signify freedom that have the same origin from Latin: liberalis
This is why they all at least partially sound the same. It is also why the use of Liberal has obvious as well as almost subliminal qualities for the Left.

Take these points into consideration when referring to the Socialist-Left:

Leftist clarifies the issue….Liberal confuses the issue.
Leftist identifies them as Socialists….Liberal compliments them as freedom fighters or Liberators.
Leftist doesn’t insult those who cherish Liberty….Liberal chastises the Liberty minded as part of the Socialist-Left.

2. Economic Liberty instead of Capitalism.

Often times the word Capitalism is used as a pejorative, not to mention that it obscures the fact that it is based on freedom instead of oppression as with the collectivist systems. This is once again a case of unnecessarily ceding ground to the enemy. Keeping economic issues termed as those of Liberty instead of money put us on the firmer rhetorical ground.

3. Red instead of Blue when referring to the nation’s Socialist Left.

There was a time when Red signified the Socialist-Left. It’s the reason certain Socialist worker’s parties incorporated it into their national flag. Literature from this time would refer to Red China or ‘The Reds’. Then the geniuses on the Left decided to switch these colours to confuse the issue as they did with their labeling as Liberal or Progressive.

Presumably the argument was that it was only fair to swap the colours, then they were never changed back. Once again, using this colour scheme confuses the issue and cedes important definitional ground to the enemy.

4. Liberty Control instead of Gun Control [Liberty Reform, Liberty Grabbers]

Finally, we should consider using this terminology instead of one centred on inanimate objects. The nation’s Left would like to distract attention from this being an issue of Liberty. Human rights are not based on a discussion of mere objects, so why should this be the case with the right of self-preservation? Free-speech is not referred to as ‘Pen control’ so why should the right of self-defence be any different?

The fact is, keeping it as an issue over mere objects of aluminium makes it easy to denigrate.
How can a gun have rights? People have rights, Guns do not.
So taking them away shouldn’t matter, but talk about taking rights away from people, that’s a different story.

Change the terms of the debate to one of Liberty and it will be a game changer focusing the mind on what is truly at stake. The Left cannot abide this change, thus they usually refuse to discuss the issue when couched in this way. They will protest over ‘Gun reform’ all day long, but let’s see them take to the streets to demand ‘Liberty reform’.

The takeaway.

If we are to win the culture war, we will need to use selected tactics of the nation’s Socialist Left. That includes using the correct words. There is really no cost to making these easy changes in how we debate the issues of the day. But the resulting dividend will be the survival of Liberty.

Happy Birthday, Karl Marx. You Were WRONG!

Published

on

By

While the NYT sings a love song to Leftist oppression theology, the victims of Communism foundation teaches it’s true nature as a new form of slavery.

Uncannily enough, one can always spot a piece of Leftist propaganda from a kilometre away – especially if It’s featured in the New York Times. In this case it was a piece on everyone’s favourite historical figure, if they just happened to favour those who have brought about the mass murder of millions: Karl Marx.

The headline in question: “Happy Birthday, Karl Marx. You Were Right!”. Was on the upcoming birthday of a man who fostered a base, immoral, parasitic ideology has been rightly labelled as organised evil. In the tech world, those who have a particular affinity for certain products or companies are labelled by the colloquial term “Fan Boy”. These are people with an unshakeable faith in certain matters such as the belief that the immoral ideology fostered by Mr. Marx can somehow work someday.

Curiously enough, there are those who seem to have a very myopic mindset, steeped in a particular time period. Admittedly, it can happen to the best of us, for who hasn’t proffered a witticism that falls flat on its face that was better suited for another era that one may happen to be studying at the moment? In this case the author has a bit of a ‘what could have been’ mindset trying to extract a few nuggets of truth from the humanitarian disaster that is Marxism along with the rest of collectivist ideologies. Perhaps the only way one could reconcile this is to set oneself in this mindset of the past, ignoring the results of all the horrific experiments in the collectivist ideologies.

The author even tried to resurrect one of history’s greatest ‘bait and switch’ deceptions, the ‘classless and stateless society’ that was supposedly to manifest itself at some future point by some miraculous process.

The idea of the classless and stateless society would come to define both Marx’s and Engels’s idea of communism, and of course the subsequent and troubled history of the Communist “states” (ironically enough!) that materialized during the 20th century. There is still a great deal to be learned from their disasters, but their philosophical relevance remains doubtful, to say the least.

Also note that he blithely dismisses these disasters as though they were natural, one time occurrences instead of being endemic to the basic function of these oppressive regimes.
On the occasion of Victims of Communism Day otherwise known as Mayday, the organisation published this video: Socialism Is Slavery

The point being that the fundamental design flaw of Socialism is that regardless of motivation or intent, it’s quest for equality has always RESULTED IN SLAVERY.

Meanwhile, Marion Smith of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation in Washington, D.C. emphasised this point in an op-ed that originally appeared in the New Hampshire Union Leader Marion Smith: On May 1, remember that Socialism is slavery

Far from ushering in a more equitable society, socialist movements that subscribed to Marxist ideology engendered a new form of slavery in the modern world.

Marxist ideology is still being used to hold more than a billion people captive around the globe. China, where Xi Jinping just proclaimed the Communist Manifesto’s continued relevance, continues to use a system of Laogai, or forced labor camps, and dictates where the working class can live and work based on a “social credit” system. Venezuela’s socialist regime seized the means of production. Venezuela’s military runs the grocery stores while Nicolas Maduro denies humanitarian food aid to his political opponents. The average Venezuelan has lost more than 20 pounds in the last year.

Millennial Americans who rightly take offense at the greed and inhumanity sometimes exhibited by global corporations must remember that workers’ rights have not improved thanks to international socialism. Workers are only truly empowered in a free society because employers and employees are able to negotiate with each other equally under the law. In a socialist system where the regime owns the means of production, the owner, manager, employer party apparatchik is the law. Workers who would demand better treatment face repression, imprisonment, or worse.

One final note that emphasises that Marx was wrong – Dead Wrong.

As is typical of the Socialist-Left, duplicity is always its watch word. This ranged from Marx’s “classless and stateless society” scam to the story that Rich Venezuelan Socialists Live the High Life In Florida.  But then again, when there are masters, there are sure to be slaves. In this modern form of slavery the masters are the elite of the Socialist-Left.  While the great unwashed – those the elite supposedly care about – serve them.
