Trump finally tells the truth by lying about rescinding DACA

Trump finally tells the truth by lying about rescinding DACA

In the days leading up to the Iowa Caucus in 2016, Donald Trump made an appearance on CBS’s Face the Nation where he said that he would be a different person as president than he had been as a candidate. In the interview, Trump claimed that this change meant he would be less combative and “wouldn’t talk as much,” which as we have seen after a year’s worth of tweets was a lie.

However, if we use his campaign promises as the measuring stick, then Trump told the truth because many of his actions as president have been completely different from his promises as a candidate, specifically regarding illegal immigration.

Beginning with his commitment to build a “big, beautiful, powerful wall” and have Mexico pay for it, to overturning Obama’s unconstitutional executive orders allowing illegal immigrants to stay in the country, Trump’s promise to fix America’s immigration problem has proven to be little more than hyperbolic rhetoric.

During his first year in office, Trump repeatedly elected to keep Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) order in place because, as White House Chief of Staff John Kelley once said when he was Homeland Security Secretary, repealing DACA would result in the deportation of DREAMers. He further stated that since Trump is officially committed to keeping the million plus DREAMers in the country, DACA needed to stay in effect until they could be given amnesty and a pathway to citizenship.

While Trump supporters will point to his so-called order to rescind DACA back in September, the reality is that the order was in-name-only and was designed to give Congress time to make DACA permanent through legislation.

It was also reported at the time by those within the administration that Trump had no intention of rescinding DACA even if Congress failed to make it permanent—a point Trump appeared to confirm himself.

Beginning this week, work on achieving Trump’s goals for DREAMers will begin in earnest as leaders from both parties will be meeting with John Kelley to get the ball rolling. According to Trump, he will only allow DACA to be made permanent if financing for the wall is provided.

Trump’s tweet is a direct contradiction to statements made by people within the administration. White House legislative director Mark Short told a group of reporters at a Christian Science Monitor event back in September that Trump wouldn’t hold DACA hostage to wall funding. Sarah Huckabee-Sanders also confirmed that Trump has always considered amnesty for DREAMers a top priority.

Meanwhile, Gang of Eight member Marco Rubio confirmed over the weekend that making DACA permanent would be only a beginning to making other permanent changes to immigration enforcement—though he gave no particulars on what that means.

It looks like Trump told the truth when he said he’d be different after the election because candidate Trump promised to get rid of DACA, but President Trump is doing the opposite

Hate-brokers on the left say conservative concern over massive migrant caravan is “fearmongering”

Hate-brokers on the left say conservative concern over massive migrant caravan is fearmongering

The hypocrisy is too thick today. Citizens are advised to stay off the roads of leftist media as chances are high you’ll ram into spectacular stupidity in your journeys. Yes, this could be said about any given day lately, but the Democrats’ responses to concerns over the massive migrant caravan inching towards our southern border are especially rabid.

Around 4,000 migrants from Honduras are walking to the United States. Threats by President Trump and halfhearted attempts by the governments of Honduras and Guatemala have not slowed them down. They approach the southern Mexican border where federal officers await them.

These people, most of whom live in extreme poverty and real danger in their homeland, have a legitimate claim as refugees. They should be seeking asylum… in Mexico. Many in the international community want refugees to seek asylum in the first safe country they enter. In this case, that’s Mexico. While it is generally considered to be more dangerous than the United States, it’s not nearly as dangerous as Honduras, Guatemala, or El Salvador.

The United States has carried the burden of illegal immigration from Central America for decades. Mexico’s next President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has claimed indignation towards President Trump’s deportation policies, particularly when he separates families. There’s a logical solution for the incoming leftist President: encourage Central American refugees to stay in Mexico. That’s a whole other discussion for a future article.

Republican candidates are rightly voicing concern over the caravan. Democrats are generally quiet on the issue, fearing a majority of Americans share the concerns their Republican competitors are voicing. That’s not stopping leftist media from posting stories like this one on Salon:

Republicans are fearmongering about a migrant caravan to boost midterm turnout

https://www.salon.com/2018/10/18/republicans-are-fearmongering-about-a-migrant-caravan-to-boost-midterm-turnout/Gaetz’s argument mirrors that of Daniel John Sobieski from American Thinker, who wrote this week that “it is doubtful that such sums came from the kiddies’ college funds. Evidence of Soros funding of an earlier ‘spontaneous’ migration have been found among the tentacles of support that flow from his Open Society group coffers.”

It was also hinted at by conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham. Although Ingraham did not specifically claim that Soros was behind the caravan, she has previously fingered Soros as a sinister financier behind left-wing political activities, and some of her supporters interpreted her Wednesday tweet as a reference to Soros.

The Salon article attempts to ridicule those concerned about the source of this swelling caravan. They do this by begging the question on George Soros and his organizations’ involvement with open borders initiatives. Soros has been painted by leftist media as a boogeyman for right-wing conspiracy theorists. They point to every invocation of his name in Tweets by conservatives and they love to remind everyone that extremists like white supremacist groups go after Soros all the time. What they won’t address is that Soros really does do many of the things conservatives claim.

They use the bigoted and unhinged claims about Soros made by a hate groups as evidence that ALL accusations against Soros are false. Some of these leftist journalists are so sincere in their condemnation of any accusation against Soros that it’s clear some of them really believe he’s not involved with doing what he’s said many times he’s involved in doing.

The go after Tweets like this one. They didn’t post the Tweet itself, just the text from the quote. The attached video is pretty telling.

As a legal immigrant, I’m very much in favor of reforming and potentially even increasing the number of immigrants we LEGALLY allow into this nation, but that will never be possible as long as we have so many who come here illegally. We need a modern vetting process, a plan that will allow legal immigrants and refugees to become productive members of society, and above all a curtailing of illegal immigration. If these things can be done, then I’m all for bringing in what the President likes to call “their best people.”

This caravan concerns me greatly. It should concern every American regardless of party affiliation because it represents a soft invasion. We often think that the word “invasion” can only apply to the military, but it can also mean an unwelcome intrusion into another’s domain. That’s what this is. They want to escape their situation which is their right. They want to be taken in as refugees which is a responsibility of nations that have signed the Refugee Convention.

Mexico is one of those nations.

Here’s the real problem and why most of us on the right are not “fearmongering” in regards to this event. It’s a symbol of encroachment that will further open up the floodgates of illegal immigration into this nation. It’s one thing for people to cross the border in small groups in the dead of night. That represents a risk to those making the journey. If all that’s necessary to breach our borders and claim a piece of our sovereignty is for people in Central America to get enough other people together, then the narrative changes. The risks of trying to come to America are mitigated.

If this caravan is allowed to successfully breach our borders, it will act as a rallying cry for people in Central America to stop fighting for their own country when all they have to do is get a large enough group to head north.

Trump will work with Democrats after the election to save DACA

Published

Will Dreamers thank President Trump when he signs a DACA replacement law in January

When Trump and the GOP fully funded DACA, sanctuary cities, and refugee resettlement while failing to fund ICE and Trump’s “big, beautiful, powerful (border) wall” — so beautiful he wants to name it “The Trump Wall” — in last month’s budget betrayal, it was more evidence that their promise to fix the immigration problem was just another in a long list of lies made to get elected.

So, it came as a bit of a surprise when a few of the so-called conservatives who routinely participated in the GOP’s betrayals for a seat at Trump’s table — I’m looking at you, House Freedom Caucus — expressed concern over the possibility that Trump will team up with RINOs and Democrats to cut an immigration deal during the upcoming lame-duck session of Congress if after Democrats take back the House in November.

Why these faux conservatives are shocked at the prospect that Trump would betray them and work with Democrats is beyond me. Trump has attacked conservatives as obstacles to his agenda, and he’s already worked with Democrats on issues like spending, gun control, and … wait for it … immigration reform (aka saving DACA) in exchange for money to build the border wall.

There are those who believe that an attempt by the Dealmaker-In-Chief to successfully cut an immigration deal with the Democrats a long shot since the Senate is expected to remain under Mitch McConnell’s reliable leadership — Hey, stop laughing! — but we need to remember that Republicans in the Senate have been pushing to save DACA and create a pathway to citizenship for years.

Do you remember the Gang of Eight? Led by Sens. Chuck Schumer and John McCain in 2013, this band of immigration misfits created many of the policies being considered today. Though they failed, one of the original members, Sen. Lindsey Graham, attempted to put the band back together during the 2016 campaign season. Other Republicans joining Graham were fellow Republicans John McCain, Jeff Flake, and Marco Rubio; all but McCain will be in the Senate during the lame duck.

Following the news that Trump might strike a deal with Democrats, Graham recognized the NY Liberal’s possible sellout as an opportunity for Republicans to get what they’ve always wanted concerning immigration. In an appearance on Trump’s favorite media outlet, Graham stated that he’s prepared to make a deal where DACA is saved in exchange for wall funding without conditions.

Trump lied about fixing illegal immigration, just like the GOP has been doing for years. And with the 2020 presidential campaign underway, the Democrats retaking the House, and the Senate Republicans ready to make a deal, saving DACA and creating a pathway to citizenship for nearly two million illegals is a done deal.

Honduran caravan is a direct result of Democrat talking points

Honduran caravan is a direct result of Democrat talking points

In Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, the message from America is clear: “Around half of the population and politicians will protect you from ICE. Come to America and you won’t get deported, especially if you have children with you.”

The reason they believe this is because mainstream media in the United States has been pushing the Democrats’ narrative for months. News travels fast to Central America, but it doesn’t always retain its accuracy as it crosses the border. We can see this fact in the numbers.

In August of this year, 12,700 parents and children were apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border. August of last year saw only 4,193 similar apprehensions. We can also see it when looking at all illegal immigrants with 37,544 apprehended in August of this year. A month later, the number grew over 10% to nearly 42,000.

Democrats have been spreading the word through their campaigns that they will protect illegal immigrants. In an election year, it’s imperative for them that they get Hispanic voters to come out, so they’ve crafted a narrative that appeals to them.

Unfortunately, it also appeals to people such as the 4,000 currently marching their caravan towards the United States border.

Honduran migrant caravan grows to 4,000 amid spike in U.S. border crossings

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigration/honduran-migrant-caravan-grows-4000-amid-spike-u-s-border-n921286Shelters and churches along the border have been flooded as a result of the surge as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have been releasing hundreds of migrants from detention at a time.

Many of the Hondurans traveling in the caravan are children, some traveling with their parents and some without their parents, according to the documents. Because children are afforded special protections in the U.S., their arrival is creating anxiety within the Trump administration that has pledged to decrease illegal immigration. President Donald Trump said last week that he would consider separating migrant families at the border once again, after reversing his controversial “zero tolerance” policy in June.

The Trump administration is trying to dissuade the caravan from invading the United States. President Trump has even threatened to stop aid from being sent to Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador.

The best hope for stopping the caravan before it reaches the United States is for Mexico to stop them at their southern border. Over 500 additional federal officers have been sent to the border to stop the caravan.

My Take

I am a huge proponent of legal immigration and a hawk when it comes to stopping illegal immigration. Congress didn’t fund the border wall yet, so we have to rely on the brave men and women of ICE and border patrol to close the flood gates.

The situations in Central America and Mexico are horrendous. The people fear for their lives from crime, malnutrition, and disease. They need help. That’s why we’re sending aid. Perhaps we should get more directly involved, but either way we cannot let their situation make us turn a blind eye towards our own problems with illegal immigration.

The surge in illegal immigration should be blamed wholeheartedly on the Democrats who spread false information that entices people to come. Imagine what would happen if they got control of the House, Senate, or both.
