Seeking writers for the NOQ Report

The answer to the first question: This is not a paid position. Until we’re able to generate revenue through the site or acquire the support of sustainable sponsors, we’re in no position to pay people.

To those who believe in conservatism, federalism, limited government, and freedoms, we’re a great venue through which you may have your voice heard. As mainstream media continues to reveal their liberal leanings, it’s important for sites like NOQ Report to give people an alternative to the progressive talking points.

Benefits of writing for NOQ Report:

  1. Exposure as real news: Unlike most right-leaning publications, our stories are recognized by Google News and other news aggregators. This allows our stories to sit side-by-side with mainstream media and liberal news sites to offer a counterbalance to what the average media consumer in America is exposed to on a daily basis.
  2. Editorial clarity: We do not censor our writers unless they espouse the type of hatred that a free-thinking society deems unacceptable. That means we don’t post articles from white supremacists, Antifa, or any of the alt-right or alt-left forces trying to divide society. If your writing is controversial with a righteous purpose, we’re all in favor of that. If your writing is intended to cause a stir for the sake of causing a stir, we’ll pass.
  3. Full bylines and profiles: We don’t use ghost writers. We have an intern who posts quick pieces under the name “NOQ Staff” but that’s just for the one- or two-sentence stories that point to other media types like videos. Otherwise, it’s your name (or pen name, if you prefer) that gets posted with full credit given.
  4. The lottery ticket: Who knows? If ever we get that big sponsor who loves the idea of promoting independent voices with right-leaning perspectives, we may someday be able to actually pay our writers. No promises, but if it ever happens we’ll be ecstatic about sending out the checks.

Important note: We are not a Republican shill. That’s not to say we don’t post pro-GOP articles, but our team takes pride in expressing things as we see them. If a Republican does well, we’ll give them credit. If they do poorly, we’ll call them out. We don’t hide stories just because they’re critical of a Republican. If anything, exposing the moderates and liberals in the party makes our approval of others in the GOP more credible.

Please disregard all other interpretations of the President’s Tweet on CHIP

Please disregard all other interpretations of the Presidents Tweet on CHIP

Reports are flying across mainstream media that Republicans in DC are “baffled” by the President’s Tweet this morning about Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). To be fair, there’s definitely room for misunderstanding.

Republicans are using CHIP funding as a negotiating tool to push forward a stopgap measure to keep the government funded. It’s a PR move; Republicans want to be able to say the Democrats voted against helping needy children if they oppose the stopgap measure.

There are three reasons the President would have Tweeted this:

  1. He isn’t aware that GOP leaders on Capitol Hill are using the 6-year extension as leverage to keep the government funded.
  2. He wants a government shutdown.
  3. He doesn’t believe they need to play that particular “chip” for a 30-day extension and would prefer they save it for a long-term government funding deal.

Most in the media and apparently a handful of Republicans on Capitol Hill are going with option 1:

Trump baffles GOP with tweet scrambling shutdown talks

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/369545-trump-baffles-gop-with-tweet-scrambling-shutdown-talksPresident Trump undermined his own party’s plan to avert a looming government shutdown on Thursday after tweeting that a key Democratic bargaining chip shouldn’t be attached to the funding package.

The 17-word tweet threw Capitol Hill into a state of confusion ahead of what is already expected to be a tight vote in the House on Thursday night. Republicans on both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue were trying to decipher what exactly the president meant by declaring that a popular children’s health-care program should be part of a “long term solution” as opposed to a “30 Day, or short term, extension.”

A handful of pundits on both sides of the aisle are going with option 2. They’re taking into account past comments by the President saying a shutdown wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. Some conservatives support this idea. Most Democrats think it makes him evil (though they didn’t have the same reaction when the government was shut down during President Obama’s watch). They see the President as truly trying to undermine the process and force a shutdown.

The truth is option 3. He believes a 6-year extension on an extremely popular program is being wasted on a 30-day deal. He wants to save the “CHIP chip,” so to speak, for a long-term government funding deal that would extend beyond the election.

To some extent, he’s correct. The challenge is in logistics and uncertainty. Had the GOP pushed forward a 6-month CHIP funding extension as part of the deal with the understanding that a longer extension would be worked into the long-term funding plan, they’d be in better shape. In fact, making it a 6-month extension puts it in the spotlight ahead of the real push for a long-term plan. It would add a sense of urgency. Now, they’re wasting it to buy themselves another month. Unfortunately, the 6-year promise is already on the table. It would be difficult to pull it back now.

Once again, the media completely misses the point the President is trying to make and hopes others will fall for it. The sad thing is many Republicans in DC are among those falling for the media’s trickery. Just get the deal done and stop worrying about the President’s Twitter account.

Jobless claims hit 45-year low and mainstream media is silent

The last thing mainstream media wants you to know is the country is doing very well economically. Stock prices are up. Lower tax rates means 164 major companies and rising have given back to their employees in the form of raises and bonuses. Jobless claims just hit a 45-year low.

Wait, you didn’t hear about that last item? That’s because mainstream media is virtually silent. They’re too busy talking about the President’s Tweets to spend any time reporting actual news.

U.S. Jobless Claims Plunge to Lowest Weekly Tally Since 1973

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-01-18/jobless-claims-in-u-s-plunge-to-lowest-weekly-tally-since-1973U.S. filings for unemployment benefits plummeted to the lowest level in almost 45 years in a sign the job market will tighten further in 2018, Labor Department figures showed Thursday.

The drop in claims shows that companies are increasingly holding on to their employees amid a shortage of skilled labor. Businesses are struggling to find workers to fill positions, particularly in manufacturing and construction, as cited in some anecdotes for the Federal Reserve’s Beige Book released Wednesday.

The most important factor during elections is the economy. More specifically, people vote based upon how well or poorly they and their families are doing financially. Unfortunately, mainstream media knows it’s not as simple as people checking their bank statements and counting their blessings. They can still be manipulated into believing they’re not doing as well as they really are or that the nation is on the verge of fiscal collapse based upon actions by the GOP and/or the President.

As a Federalist, I can say these things knowing I’m not spinning it in favor of the GOP. I’m not a Republican fanboy, but when things are going well based upon actions they are the Democrats take, it’s okay to give kudos. My allegiance is to the nation and the truth.

In this election year, the Democrats will utilize their puppets in the media to try to make as many people as possible believe things are really bad. It doesn’t matter that the economy is looking great. Perception trumps reality and mainstream media wants to change as many people’s perceptions as possible. We have to fight against that. Share news like this with as many people as you can. They need to know the truth to fight against the bias mainstream media tries to slap on them.

Jim Acosta is building his own celebrity, not seeking the truth

Jim Acosta is building his own celebrity not seeking the truth

The press shouldn’t be part of the news. It happens from time to time based upon proximity; because they have to be close to situations, they occasionally get drawn in. What a good journalist should never do is intentionally insert himself into the news, but that seems to be exactly what CNN’s Jim Acosta is doing.

He doesn’t care about reporting. It’s as if he now enjoys being the news. That’s the only logical conclusion one can come up with when viewing his actions over the past several months. Once an obscure media figure during the Obama era, Acosta has found true celebrity status by going after the President and his staff.

He tasted blood and he liked it. Now, it seems he’s addicted to it.

The latest “outburst” against him came from the President himself. It happened during an event with the President of Kazakhstan in which Acosta asked an unrelated question:

‘OUT!’ Trump orders CNN star Jim Acosta to leave Oval Office after reporter’s newest outburst

http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2018/01/16/out-trump-orders-cnn-star-jim-acosta-to-leave-oval-office-after-reporter-s-newest-outburst.html“Did you say that you want more people to come in from Norway? Did you say that you wanted more people from Norway? Is that true Mr. President?” Acosta frantically shouted.

“I want them to come in from everywhere… everywhere. Thank you very much everybody,” Trump responded as Acosta continued to bark questions.

That’s all acceptable, albeit slightly inappropriate considering the reason for the event. Acosta took it up several notches with his followup question:

“Just Caucasian or white countries, sir? Or do you want people to come in from other parts of the world… people of color.”

This was intended to insert himself into the news once again. It’s a ridiculous question to ask and embarrassed the President and the nation on an international stage. “Journalists” like Acosta are willing to harm the country and its people as long as they can harm the President at the same time.

I’ve treated the President fairly since he was elected. When he pushes a big-government agenda, I voice my concerns. When he does well, I give praise. I would never attempt to shame him (and the nation as a result) with petulant outbursts of absurd questions. Jim Acosta apparently doesn’t hold such standards.
