Let me state up front that the stories told by four women in the Washington Post bombshell seem credible. At this point, the only reason to not believe them is that they were reported by the Washington Post which falls squarely into the category of being part of leftist mainstream media’s “fake news” problem. Otherwise, these women should be taken seriously. Questions need to be asked. Moore, while innocent until proven guilty as it pertains to the law, doesn’t get the same protections in the court of public opinion. I have a hard time thinking he can win the December 12 special election for Senate at this point.
In other words, this is either an extremely well-compiled and meticulously planned smear job on the Republican candidate, or the stories are most likely true or close to the truth. If that’s the case, Moore should drop out.
I say all of these things because I don’t want the point of this story to be confused with some sordid defense or attempt at redirection on behalf of Moore. It’s not. I’m having a hard time understanding how the same people who are up in arms about what Moore allegedly did nearly four decades ago were making excuses and pointing fingers when worse allegations were made against Bill Clinton. How are the women accusing Moore to be believed wholeheartedly while the women accusing Clinton were liars who were part of some vast right-wing conspiracy? That’s what we’re seeing here. The leftist pundits and Clinton apologists are playing a 180-degree double standard on this one.
You can’t have it both ways. I can comfortably call for Moore to explain or disprove the allegations because I asked the same thing of Clinton. If I didn’t confront Clinton or if I actually defended him as so many did, I would have no right to confront Moore.
Of course, this goes in both directions. There are some on the right who were rabid about Clinton but suddenly defensive about Moore. It’s easy to do that initially (it’s the Washington Post, after all), but after reading the full story and doing just a little more research, an honest person has to admit there may be something to these accusations. Again, they’re either incredibly manufactured or they resemble the truth. There’s almost no chance these women, of which at least one is a Trump-voting Republican, contrived their stories so well that they included corroboration from decades ago.
Roy Moore likely did what he’s accused of doing. The stories seem quite credible. Likewise, Bill Clinton likely did what he’s accused of doing for the same reason. Condemn them both or condemn neither. Just don’t be inconsistent.

Neither Corfman nor any of the other women sought out The Post. While reporting a story in Alabama about supporters of Moore’s Senate campaign, a Post reporter heard that Moore allegedly had sought relationships with teenage girls. Over the ensuing three weeks, two Post reporters contacted and interviewed the four women. All were initially reluctant to speak publicly but chose to do so after multiple interviews, saying they thought it was important for people to know about their interactions with Moore. The women say they don’t know one another.
“I have prayed over this,” Corfman says, explaining why she decided to tell her story now. “All I know is that I can’t sit back and let this continue, let him continue without the mask being removed.”
