Kid Rock shouldn’t run for office. Russell Crowe shouldn’t sing in musicals. Senate Democrats shouldn’t play with pop culture memes on Twitter.
Everyone makes mistakes in politics. Sometimes, they’re quite damaging such as Hillary Clinton’s decision to use a private server and stay above the law. Others are minor. The Senate Democrats’ Twitter account made a harmless but embarrassing mistake by posting a meme from the popular Netflix show Stranger Things while battling the Republicans over their upcoming tax proposal. Stranger Things 2 was just released, so it’s a hot topic.
Tomorrow, the GOP is expected to finally unveil #TrumpTax plan, but w/ planned middle class tax hikes, we're sure it's in the upside down. pic.twitter.com/aCMmaD3EFj

They even acknowledged how bad it was shortly after seeing the backlash.
Alright, this meme is pretty bad.
Is it worse than tax hikes for the middle class that pay for tax giveaways for the 1%? No chance. https://t.co/r7OAAXh4Xl

Final Thoughts
It takes courage to try to make a point using pop culture memes. There’s a reason why so many of them fail so badly. ProTip: Don’t. Just don’t even attempt it. Stick with the boring old policy Tweets and react to the opponents. Much safer. Much more effective long-term.
Covid variant BA.5 is spreading. It appears milder but much more contagious and evades natural immunity. Best to boost your immune system with new Z-Dtox and Z-Stack nutraceuticals from our dear friend, the late Dr. Vladimir Zelenko.
