The immigrant bomber behind two successful pipe bomb attacks last year in New York City (including one right in front of an apparent Jewish target, the King David Gallery) and New Jersey was convicted by a federal jury this morning and faces life in prison.
Ahmed Khan Rahimi — originally reported by TheNewAmericana last year with the surname spelled “Rahami,” like his family — was convicted of numerous terrorism criminal charges, including charges of using a “weapon of mass destruction” by a jury after less than four hours of deliberations.

The fiend remained composed as he heard the verdict against him, which followed less than four hours of deliberations over two days, and tried in vain to make eye contact with members of the eight-man, four-woman jury. He then chatted and chuckled with his defense lawyer as Judge Richard Berman [no relation to managing editor Steve Berman –ed] met in the jury room with the panel. As he left the courtroom, the jury’s foreman said: “It’s never easy to part of something like this.” Berman scheduled sentencing for January 18.

Looking at the photo above, note the scaffolding above the storefront. Unless you are right in front of the store, you can easily miss the store’s name. Yet the significance has to be there, and to the knowledgeable, it is obvious. Almost too obvious.
Area where Ahmad Khan Rahami lived was extreme. Extremely Democratic.
Elizabeth NJ is a sizable central New Jersey city with a population of nearly 125,000. It is so heavily Democratic that in the recent June 2016 primary election for Elizabeth Mayor, the Democratic incumbent ran unopposed while the Republican nomination was unsought, with only two write-in votes in the Republican primary. This past June’s presidential primary turnout showed that only six percent (6%) of the combined party’s primary votes were by Republicans; 94% of the primary votes were by Democrats. Hillary Clinton carried Elizabeth with over 70% of the vote, getting 7,113 votes to 2,941 for Bernie Sanders. Over on the Republican side, Donald Trump captured nearly 80% of Elizabeth’s Republican voters in the June 2016 primary with 541 of the city’s 678 Republican votes, with John Kasich and Ted Cruz each failing to break 10%.
