You might not know who Harvey Weinstein is but if you have ever watched a movie you have undoubtedly seen his work. Weinstein is one of the most influential players in Hollywood. He is a film producer and film studio executive. He co-founded Miramax Films and The Weinstein Company. His power to make or break careers is undeniable. For those news junkies out there that don’t know him, if he was a newsman he would be equivalent to the late Roger Ailes at Fox News.
Just like Roger Ailes, sexual harassment claims against Weinstein might take down another titan. Harvey Weinstein is accused of subjecting women to decades of sexual harassment. The question that we must ask ourselves is, will Weinstein survive these allegations or will he be taken down like Roger Ailes?

Another man behaving badly in Hollywood — this time, Harvey Weinstein. What a shocker – LA Times
Weinstein is a 65-year-old married movie mogul who has been accused of sexually harassing women who work for him or have wanted to work for him over a period of nearly three decades. He is a man who can make and break careers, whose power has sometimes seemed infinite, whose temper is volcanic, and whose deft touch with stories and marketing has resulted in numerous Oscars.
In a blockbuster New York Times story published Thursday, reporters Jodi Kantor and Meghan Twohey interviewed Weinstein employees and actresses who said the producer invited them into his plush hotel rooms on the pretext of discussing work, then would ask for naked massages, make unwanted physical advances or request that they watch him shower.

When asked about the Times reporting that he has reached at least eight settlements with women — including a young assistant in New York in 1990, actress Rose McGowan, an assistant in London in 1998, an Italian model in 2015 and O’Connor — he told The Post, “No company ever talks about settlements, and neither does the recipient, so I don’t know how the Times came to this conclusion, but it is pure conjecture, the reporters have made assumptions.”
But Weinstein does admit he needs to treat staffers and other people better. “I have got to change, I’ve got to grow, I’ve got to deal with my personality, I’ve got to work on my temper, I have got to dig deep. I know a lot of people would like me to go into a facility, and I may well just do that — I will go anywhere I can learn more about myself. I want to be able to look at the people I have hurt and say, ‘I am sorry, I have changed and I’ve progressed.’ I am terribly embarrassed for my company, my staff and the only person who could fix this is me. I am going to fix myself, I am going to fix how I deal with women and how I deal with my temper and power.” He is seeing a therapist and also being advised by attorney Lisa Bloom, a famed advocate for women.

Report accuses the Hollywood power player of a decades-long pattern of sexual harassment.
One of Hollywood’s biggest power players is being accused in a New York Times report of sexually harassing movie stars, including Ashley Judd, over his decades-long reign over Tinseltown.
“I came of age in the 60’s and 70’s, when all the rules about behavior and workplaces were different. That was the culture then,” Weinstein wrote. “I have since learned it’s not an excuse, in the office – or out of it. To anyone. I realized some time ago that I needed to be a better person and my interactions with the people I work with have changed.”

Final Thoughts
Stories of rich and powerful men sexually harassing women are all too commonplace in our society. When it happens to someone on the Right like Bill O’Reilly or Roger Ailes we see those on the Left jumping and ridiculing conservatives, especially Christians conservatives for following and respecting these men. When it happens to people on the Left you see those on the Right criticizing the Left for their hypocrisy for espousing women’s rights and at the same time embracing men with known sexual harassment allegations.
Let us realize that being on the Left or Right doesn’t make one righteous. People, especially rich and powerful people can do many despicable things. If our goal is to throw mud then feel free to do so. I, on the other hand, believe that standing with those on the Left or Right to confront this type of behavior is what is needed. As our friend Ben Shapiro says, “Politics is not a team sport.” We either stand for principles or we become political hacks. I chose to stand for principles. I don’t know if these accusations are true or not, I wasn’t there, but as a Christian, I pray that this will have a humbling effect on Weinstein and that he repents.
