‘If there’s not a wall, we’re doing nothing,’ said Donald Trump

Published

on

The president made it very clear that the wall is central to his immigration plan. He told reporters he wont “do anything” regarding DACA unless the wall is built at some point in the future. This is actually a valid point; one that’s been made for decades since President Reagan’s immigration reform plan. Congress has always had on its plate some kind of border control to keep undesirables out while moving forward with real immigration policy. But Congress has done nothing for decades.

Trump: “If there’s not a wall, we’re doing nothing” – Axios

https://www.axios.com/trump-if-theres-not-a-wall-were-doing-nothing-2485227579.html“There was no deal and they didn’t say they had a deal. in fact they just put out a statement and they didnt say that at all”We’ll only do it if we get extreme security, not only surveillance but everything that goes with surveillance. If there’s not a wall, we’re doing nothing.”

Trump: “No Deal Was Made Last Night On DACA… The Wall Will Be Built” | Tyler Durden, Zero Hedge

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-09-14/trump-no-deal-was-made-last-night-daca“No deal was made last night on DACA. Massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for consent. Would be subject to vote. The WALL, which is already under construction in the form of new renovation of old and existing fences and walls, will continue to be built.”

D’Souza Dissects Trump’s Border Wall May Be ‘Symbolic’ | Nick Givas, The Daily Caller

http://dailycaller.com/2017/09/14/dinesh-dsouza-trump-border-wall-may-be-symbolic/“At the end of the day Trump may be moving to a position in which he says that the wall is symbolic,” D’Souza told Fox News. “In other words, these are the five ways we are going to be enforcing immigration. These are the ways we’re going to be securing our border — I have an electronic wall, I have 10 different ways to check identities. I have all kinds of enforcement within the country. It may be that there’s a way to work this out that doesn’t require a wall.”

Reactions

Trump’s supporters are concerned. James Woods probably had the best, simplest take, and likely closest to the truth.

Final Thoughts

Trump campaigned on having a wall. The wall is integral to his presidency. If Trump gives up on the border wall, even his staunchest supporters will have trouble defending that move. Also, Congress, without Trump pushing the wall, will do nothing, as they have for nearly 30 years. If Trump is serious, he’ll build that wall.

Daniel Horowitz on amnesty versus immigration reform

Daniel Horowitz on amnesty versus immigration reform

Conservative Review’s Daniel Horowitz has been outspoken in his opposition to amnesty for years. With the DACA “fix” coming, it’s clear that Congress is prioritizing helping DREAMers without lifting a finger to fix the legal immigration system or our illegal immigration problem.

“We have a national emergency with the courts and immigration, yet Congress will create an emergency for amnesty, not to fix immigration for Americans first.”

A case against amnesty in any form in DACA deal

A case against amnesty in any form in DACA deal

The short version of this Daily Signal video is: “Amnesty: Been there, done that, didn’t work, shouldn’t be in DACA, period.”

Of course, the video itself is less than four-and-a-half minutes long, so you might as well take a moment and listen to Genevieve Wood from the Heritage Foundation explain why there’s absolutely no reason to include any form of amnesty in the upcoming DACA bill.

Why Amnesty Should Not Be Part of Any ‘Deal’ on DACA

http://dailysignal.com/2017/11/19/amnesty-not-part-deal-daca/Apparently, the battles over tax reform, Obamacare, and the looming spending bill aren’t enough to keep Congress busy. There are increasing rumblings that some lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are looking for ways to give legal status to illegal aliens currently in the United States.

When President Donald Trump was candidate Trump, he promised that if elected he would end the program known as DACA—the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals that gave legal status to illegal aliens brought to the U.S. as minors.

As border patrol agent dies, President renews call for the wall

As border patrol agent dies President renews call for the wall

Update:

A new report goes into detail about how the two border patrol agents were attacked. If this report turns out to be accurate, the outcry to improve border security and build the wall should be swift and unambiguous.

REPORT: Illegal Aliens Brutally Murder Border Patrol Agent, Crushed His Skull With Rocks

http://www.dailywire.com/news/23773/report-illegal-aliens-brutally-murder-border-ryan-saavedra“What we know is that Border Patrol Agent Rogilio Martinez appears to have been ambushed by a group of illegal aliens whom he was tracking,” Judd said. “Our agents’ reports from the ground say that he was struck in the head multiple times with a rock or rocks.”

Another Border Patrol agent arrived on scene shortly after and was also reportedly ambushed by illegal aliens who attacked him with rocks.

“The other agent arrived on scene a short time later and was also ambushed and struck in the head with what is believed to have been a rock or rocks. These disgusting acts and complete disregard for human life need to stop immediately. Family members of slain Agent Martinez will never get to see him come home again all because we have failed to secure our borders from such criminals.”

There really is no spin on this that the open borders people can use. They can’t say we should have just made it easier for them to get here in the first place; how many Americans want free access to people capable of bashing someone’s head in with rocks? Gungrabbers call for gun control the moment someone is shot and killed. It’s time for border security proponents to use the same tactic. If ever there was a clear call for the wall, this is it.

Original Story:

Two border patrol agents were injured on duty in Culberson County, Texas. One, Rogelio Martinez, has died from his injuries. His partner is still in the hospital in serious condition.

No word on what caused the injuries they sustained while on patrol. They were responding to a call of activity 120 miles outside of El Paso.

President Trump took to Twitter to renew calls for the wall along the southern border.

As more information comes available, this story will be updated.
